You guys, I’m on a quest.
Yes, a quest.
You see, I want to make the most delectable treat for Valentine’s Day. After all, who doesn’t love a little sweetness, especially on that day?!
I want to find an absolutely decadent recipe that somehow has a bit of Valentine’s Day infused – whether that be color-wise, flavor-wise, or appearance-wise (hearts, anyone)? But, of course, taste is paramount.
I would love, love, love to hear suggestions from you guys…either recipes you’ve made yourself or just scrumptious desserts you’ve found on the web! I figure one of you might just know the perfect dessert!
Thanks in advance! Oh, and I’ll be sure to let you know the answer to my quest once it is found!
I kept meaning to post a recipe I found on the web, it is for a snickerdoodle cake with cream cheese frosting. It is sooooo good! My son was super sick this week though and I haven’t had a chance. I promise I’ll try to post the link for you soon!
Mmmmm! How intriguing!
I certainly hope your son is okay…and there is absolutely no need to rush with the link! Help him feel better!
Okay, it was this cake http://allrecipes.com/recipe/snickerdoodle-cake-i/detail.aspx
With this frosting http://www.justapinch.com/recipes/dessert/cake/snickerdoodle-cupcakes-with-cream-cheese-frosting.html?p=1
With the cake I used butter instead of shortening and with the cinnamon and sugar mix for the topping I actually mixed some of it in after I had mixed the cake up and then sprinkled a little on top. I made it a double layer cake. Super good! Although, I feel like you can’t go wrong with cinnamon and sugar and cream cheese frosting.
I LOVE cream cheese frosting!!! I’m definitely considering this recipe…and even if I don’t make it for Valentine’s Day, you can bet it will be on my to-make-soon baking list! Thanks again!
